It was a much "feared" run because I have not been or had not trained since I had Aragorn... So, drove down to Capitol to park the car there while meeting the girls at City Hall MRT. As usual, everyone was late and we met Daphne (who flew down in a cab) at the Baggage area. Not much people as compared to Standard Chartered. Hell! It is like comparing 8,000 vs 50,000 in the same venue... But at least the SC run gave me previous experience and I only carried the car key while i ran (as compared to running with a bag in 2006)...
Anyway, timed myself to set a pace... Lost the girls at the startline. We were like super late and missed the official start time by 2mins plus because all the KS ladies for 5km were already at the front... Nevermind, I was running quite comfortably for 30mins (at about that time, was already pass the halfway mark at Marina South). After clearing the marina area, once i can see the CBD, i sorta felt the aches in my legs but continued on.. I think the water points are ALL major distractions and a cause for me to slow down to drink some water... (no straws given and I didnt wanna get my shoes or clothes wet)....
Nearing to the 3km mark, saw a girl who fainted. Ambulance was kinda in a rush to get to her... At least, there were officials and her friend there to give her support... Glad that i did not end up like her... Nearing the last 2km, can feel my legs becoming tofu.. At least, i can still run or attempted to catch the next person in front of me... Didnt stop like in 2006..
Cross the finishing line at 1h 7 mins (give or take). It was definitely a faster time as compared in 2006. Hello! I trained at least once a week in 2006 and for like 3 months. Damn proud of myself because i managed to do it. Of course, this year, it was a total different setup as I wore the official shape t-shirt and wore the arena tights... In 2006, wore the long-sleeve arena t-shirt, carried a bag and wore long pants (with the main intention of losing more water and hopefully weight) plus carried my good friend, MP3 with me...
This time, i accomplished a faster time but had BAD BAD aches almost immediately after the race... The abrasions at the arms were BAD TOO!!!! So, it was no USE to apply the vaseline that Daphne so kindly lent... Ha! Dawn managed to make it only for a 5km run as she was late and plus she had fever while travelling on official business to Bangkok. Fiona was recovering from flu and Daphne had knee problems again... In all, congrats GIRLS for finishing the race, for NOT giving up, for MAKING the effort to get up on a bright sunny Sunday morning (where you could have sleep in) and for the massive queueing for the runners kit, FOC stuff like the Subaru t-shirts...
Ha! It was fun... Btw, the time, i took the cab down to Grandpa's place, was totally aching and dying. After the shower, played with the kids for a while before dying for a sleep on the mattress. The maid helped to put Aragorn to sleep, Thank God for relatives and helpers. If not, this mummy CONFIRMED will die lo... As it was, the aches settled in FULLY and climbing up and down the stairs was TERRIBLE for my BOTH ankles and knees. Relatives remarked that i was like a grandma trying to walk again... BLAH
Anyway, if not for the deep heat available (plus i helped myself to 1 FOC tube) on site, confirm sure need help to get to the car lo... Now, waiting for the official results and photos.. Hopefully, SHAPE organisers NOT so stingly as SC organisers. Their SC pics can ONLY be bought, not FOC downloaded.. BLAH.

so that we can buy these for him...
1) Car seat with booster seat for weight up to 25-28kg (good ones costs about $250-$300)

2) Soy Milk Power from Friso (each tin last only 3-6 days and costs $11.80 per tin) - normally we try to buy it from smaller shops as NTUC sells them quite expensive.
3) Pampers (only Pampers brand) size L and XL (about $30+ per pax) - must wait for promotions such as the tagged price for 2 packets (more worth it).
4) Educational toys from Fisher-Price (www.fisher-price.com) - best supplier as they have toys by age.. Some toys wanted... Best thing is that they have a section for clearance/out dated toys... The toys are so brightly coloured and fun... Toys that are loud or have interesting music are normaly those that babies would like.. Hell, even i would like it lo... '')

Happily left work early with Boss' blessing and wanted to get back home early ot spend time with the family... but who knows...
At the junction before turning into KJE, 3 cars in front of me had already stopped at the traffic lights and I was cruising to a stop when suddenly, I heard a LOUD BANG! My car jerked forward and i felt a sudden jerk to my lower trunk muscles...
Then, I calmly got out of the car with paper & pen, knowing very certainly that I was in the midst of my first accident... Some pics using my nokie phone. Wanted to upload more but the other hp did not have bluetooth, so got to find the hp cable or something... Damn bloody pissing off because the cab driver (last car) was the cause of it all!!!!! Total waste of 30 minutes of my time! He REFUSED to give his NAME, NRIC & CONTACT NUMBER...
So the 2nd Driver (that malay chap) called his entire Kampong and gang and police to get what he required!!!! Anyway, the pictures speak for themselves... Enjoy my SUAY-ness! :(
Note the bumper! Looks like a small dent but...
Imagine the impact of the hit on our car! :(

oh well, cant ask for more but was hoping that Aragorn's milk rash will kinda of disappear but as it is, just praying that it will subside on its own. His 1st injection is up on 6th sept and i foresee a crying day ahead for him. Also intend to get him a haircut after the injection is over. so watch out for pictures then!.
Just to recap on the debrief:
1) Sept's trainings on Wed only
2) Oct's trainings on Sun only
3) Resume all WS trainings, Wed, Sat & Sun in Nov & Dec. May have more than 3 sessions scheduled. Kinda of like the June Holiday trainings! :)
4) Annual Dinner will be held inconjuction with Christmas at Fiona's place. Will work out the budget and menu nearer to that time. Since each WSapiens is going to pay $10, we can afford to get smoked ham, turkey, salmon etc... Should be a ball of a party lo! hee hee!
Cheers!

If you are thinking of presents for the birth of Aragorn, some suggestions from the parents:
1) lots & lots of pampers from Newborn, to s to m to l size pampers (only the "real" pampers brand, you know, the one with the new wrapping (yellow in colour, where previously, it was in green)!
2) A good baby pram - the one we had for Ariel was destroyed in a matter of months because, we bought it on sale, it was not user-friendly, too bulky and heavy for the mummy.
So, asking Fiona to help coordinate the present from WS if anyone is keen to contribute to the 2 proposed presents. So thick-skin right. But it is the bear essentials we need currently.
Also, would like to take this opportunity to thank all the WSapiens who visited me at the hospital bearing their pretty gifts and thoughts and flowers. Also to those like Ang Peng Siong & Wife, Wendy, Samuel Seetoh, even SLSS for their thoughtful baby hampers and flowers.
Though we aren't as close as we would like to be, many thanks for the well-wishes and thoughts. It is GREATLY appreciated especially in today's very expensive times!

Anyway, Fi had come out with this great jap sushi place that we intend to go this thurs for lunch. i am gonna drag the hubby out to take me along as well. If i can do so, most probably, we will park the car at toa payoh and take the mrt to novena revenue house, just to be cheapo and save on the parking, plus we wont get lose, no parking issues nor fighting with others to park the car at the nearest lift lobby etc...
So wonder who's going since Fi, Daph & me are confirmed. Fi, can ask Ena & Dawn & Jeri to join us? Jeri did say something about going to Port Dickson over the weekend. Anyway, if it is ALL GIRLS, then, most prob, Kwa isnt really keen to go, he said that all we will talk about is other girls and other girl-related issues. He is just being a stick-in-the-mud! BLAH!
Anyway, hoping to get down and purchase a new camera @ Funan since my regular shop is there. Any takers to go walk-walk shop-shop with me? Thinking of going this monday or tuesday, most prob will take the MRT, faster and nearer instead of driving and stressing myself un-necessary.

The entire kwa family went for a drive down to Arena to collect the guards and 6 AGL 8900 goggles (3 black, 3 blue). Kwa as usual submitted his japan orders to her with an interesting remark "if too expensive, then, wait and combine with 2008's orders".
Anyway, we got all the guards for team with execption for the CA series. So Mel, no guards for you. That one that you ordered is no longer selling in Singapore. Anyway, Kwa wanted NOT TO WORK today and i took Ariel to the doctor to get a child's mc that costs me $14.00. So ya, CONFIRMED that Ariel is overweight lo at 22.2kg at 1.07m. The doc said that she was tall for her age but ideal weight is betweeen 18-20kg. So KWA, see! Dont keep telling me she's tough, she's really FAT FAT FAT! So help me with her dieting and exercising kk. L(
Anyway, at Arena, he received a call from office and his stupid boss recalled him back to work! Totally sian lo! So, the day kinda of SUCK big time until Daph & Fi came down @ about 3plus to find me @ home. I was like napping and almost reaching la-la land. We had a good time bitching for a while till the small "princess" woke up about 4plus. Then, it was hard trying to talk while "entertaining" her.
Finally, i got pissed off and just decided to dump her @ mum-in-law while we took a cab down to Singapore Teacher's Union for Dinner. I tell you, the cab is totally awesome. It was actually my first time taking such a BIG cab, the flagdown rate was like $2.80 with the peak period charge of $2, the total bill was like $9.20. Anyway, Jeremy was there only 10 mins late (we reached promptly @ 7pm).
Dinner was wonderful with lots of common bitching about stupid learn-to-swim students and irriating coaches and parents. Wow! I should see how Jeremy teaches because i betcha, he would be so different. Anyway, John was "forced" to pick all of us up in his NICE PINKY car to toa payoh.

So far, work done: called the organisers to secure our place. Apparently, heard that the local UNIs & Polys also going up. So we will probably see the same faces or new faces at the competition this year.
Tentative plans:
= Leaving SG on Friday, 20th July (either morning or night, depending who wanna miss school)
= Back in Singapore on Monday, 23rd July (night, so guys will have to miss school).
Pradeep gave me his uncle's contact for the BUS at NICE. So we are thinking of booking a bus exclusively ourselves since i called Shereen and STA is not going (BLAH), so if we dont have enough people, we will have to share a bus. Meanwhile, asking Fiona to help me along these lines:
1) Get quotations for Insurance
2) Get quotations from Grassland and/or other bus company for our trip to Ipoh in the event we dont have enough people to book a bus exclusively
We are trying to feel in a team of Under 16s (girls and boys) and an Open Team (men & women). So far, more or less confirmed or interested are as follows:
Jim
Pradeep
Pradeep's dad (as supporter)
Jia Long (if he gets his BM on time)
Kwa
Fiona (assistant team manager)
John (for a short holiday and hopefully as supporter)
Stewart
Justin Chua (if only miss 1 day of school)
Emily (team manager)
I would suggest and have already written to SLSS that the NUS & Ipoh competition events be taken into consideration as part of the time trials since there is going to be 2 times trials on 20th Jun & 25th Jul. Still pending their response.
So meanwhile, girls, if you see anyone online, help me ask them if keen to go. Looking at estimated costs of SGD$200 (similiar as penang) and we will try to throw in some sight-seeing. For once, Kwa was damn "onz" about it and even to the extend of sight-seeing in some dark and gloomy cave, hope that he wanna neck with me instead of being professional. Anyway, for all you may know, i cant go! So tummy and baby, help me out a bit and let's all have some fun to destress ourseleves! Cheers!
